What is RiverRun?

RiverRun is a 5K run, walk, and wheelchair race held in Iowa City each April. The race started in 1979, and it partnered with Uptown Bill's and Extend the Dream Foundation in 2008 to raise money for people with physical and mental disabilities. The 39th annual race will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2018 on the streets of Iowa City! Continue Reading

This year is just a little different than in years past. RiverRun has partnered with RUN CRANDIC to form the RiverRUN CRANDIC 5K for 2018. We will jointly use the course from Northwest Junior High School to Kinnick Stadium, use the same start times, bib system, timing system, and a special RiverRUN CRANDIC 5K t-shirt. This partnership alleviates needs for public safety, volunteers, and infrastructure.  The only difference is where the registration costs will go.  RiverRun's proceeds benefit Uptown Bill’s and the Extend the Dream Foundation. RUN CRANDIC proceeds benefit the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Community Schools.  This is going to be a great race for all runner's, and we can't wait till April 29th. We will see all of you out there Sunday morning!
