Hawkeye Hustle

Hawkeye Hustle is a free 50-yard dash for children ages 2-8, in Hubbard Park. Pre-registration is not required for the Hawkeye Hustle.

Fitness Fair

After the race, relax with food, drinks, entertainment and the latest in fitness. The Fitness Fair will present health, fitness and nutrition ideas through brochures, presentations, testing and booth set-ups. It is a FREE way to gain knowledge and ideas to live a healthier lifestyle!

Training Program

Looking for some running buddies on campus? Need some extra motivation to get back in shape? Join the River Run Training program!

 

The River Run Training program is a FREE 4-week program that starts on Sunday, April 1 and ends on race day. Weekly runs will be lead by Training Captains who will help you reach your running goals.

 

All ability levels are encouraged to participate - whether you are brand new to running or have completed a marathon! If you attend at least 8 runs, you will be eligible for some great participation prizes!!

RiverRun 2011 is proud to announce our continued association with Uptown Bill’s Small Mall of Iowa City. Uptown Bill’s is a collection of businesses owned and operated by people with disabilities and staffed by volunteers. The proceeds from the 2011 race will go to help support this organization, which is sponsored by the non-profit group Extend the Dream Foundation. Read more »

Extend the Dream

Extend The Dream Foundation (EDF) was founded as a non-profit organization in Iowa in 1997. In 1999 it redefined its target to serve persons with disabilities and the aging. The mission of EDF is to assist these persons in establishing their own micro enterprises and in expanding their employment opportunities. The EDF also attempts to educate the public about "disability" through demonstration projects and media. Read more »
